Community Engagement

The University has engaged the local community, community board and local elected officials early to keep them informed and solicit feedback to learn how we can best work with the community.  Thus far, the following meetings have taken place, with additional meetings to come:

  • 03/15/2007 - Community Board 9 - General Board Presentation

    Columbia University Facilities - presents a summary of the Northwest Science Building constructoin project to the General Board membership of Community Board 9.  Included in this presenation were summaries of other Univesity construction projects slated to begin in calendar year 2007 - including Jerome Greene Hall, McVickar Hall and Knox Hall at Union Theological Seminary.

  • 03/07/2007 - Milstein Heart Center Construction Site Visit

    Columbia University Facilities invited a group of University scienctists, Science Chairs and Science administrators to the NY Presbyterian Hospital construction site at West 165th Street and Ft. Washington Avenue to have a first hand view of a construction project with similar construction elements as the NW Science project.  The site visit is conducted by NY Presbyterian Hospital and its consruction manager, Bovis Lend Lease.
