Profile: José Rafael Moneo is a renowned Spanish architect and the 1996 winner of the Prizker Prize and the UIA Gold Medal.  In 2003, he was awarded the Royal Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects.  A 1961 graduate of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, he has taught architecture at various locations around the world.  Works currently under construction include the Extension to the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Souks in Beirut and the Laboratory for the Interface and Engineering for Harvard University.
